Introduction
Marldon is a small village near the town of Paignton , in South Devon . Despite our close proximity to Torbay , Marldon is actually in South Hams District Council, part of Devon County Council.
The school is situated in the middle of the village and has close inks with the thriving local community, including the Neighbourhood Lunch Club which provides lunches for elderly people in the village.
Since it was built in 1964 the school has significantly changed, pupil numbers have more than doubled, now over 180, and the building has been adapted to accommodate these children. There have been many internal and external alterations to the school building;
- 2001 ~ Class 5 and resource room alterations
- 2003 ~ New Hall
- 2004 ~ Old hall changed to ICT suite and new library. New offices and extension to staff room
- 2005 ~ New KS1 Toilets and cloakrooms, improvements to outside play areas
- 2008 ~ New two class block to replace temporary classrooms, medical room, music room and linking corridor
- 2009 ~ New roof and lightening conductor
